We’re more than just a paper bag company. We’re innovators, environmental stewards,
and community builders, driven by a simple idea: turning agricultural waste
into sustainable solutions. Discover our story.
Our journey began with a stark observation right here in Ghana: the widespread environmental impact of plastic pollution contrasted sharply with piles of discarded banana and plantain stems – a rich natural resource often treated simply as waste. This visible imbalance fueled our search for a sustainable alternative.
We discovered incredible strength and potential within those discarded fibers. The real innovation lay in developing a truly eco-friendly process – using minimal water and no harsh chemicals – to transform this abundant resource into durable, beautiful paper. Mending Papers was founded on this principle: creating sustainable solutions by valuing nature’s overlooked gifts.
Every decision at Mending Papers is rooted in a profound respect for our planet. We prioritize eco-friendly materials, resource-efficient processes, and products designed to naturally return to the earth, ensuring our impact is regenerative and positive
We see opportunity where others see waste. Our commitment is to creatively transform overlooked agricultural byproducts, like banana plantain husks, into beautiful, durable, and practical solutions that challenge conventional thinking and reduce environmental burden.
We believe sustainable progress includes uplifting our local [Ghanaian] communities. Mending Papers is dedicated to creating fair employment opportunities, fostering skill development, and building ethical partnerships that contribute to shared prosperity and well-being.
